COUNTRY HOMES NURSE PRACTITIONERS

staff.JPGWe believe that the needs of our patients are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.

  • We are Independent Nurse Practitioners sharing office space, overhead and after hours on-call, in addition to collegiality and support.
  • We have a great network of specialists available for consultation and referral and we consider having the best expertise available as part of our quality of care. We are not hesitant to get a second opinion or additional consultation when it is indicated or requested by our patients.
  • If hospitalization is required we have agreements with local hospital specialists ("hospitalists") that have agreed to care for our patients during a hospital stay.  We do not provide any direct in hospital patient care.
  • After hours on-call is provided for our established patients.  The on-call provider can be reached by calling the clinic number and listening to the message which has the on-call provider's pager number or cell phone number.  The on-call provider typically calls within 15 minutes of receiving a page (occasionally we get more than 1 page at a time, so if you haven't heard from the on-call provider within the 15 minutes you may repage).  In the event that you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency you should call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency center if unable to contact 911.  We share on-call between ourselves and a broader group of nurse practitioners and physicians during weekends and holidays.
  • Laboratory testing is available on site at our office location provided by Interpath Laboratories.  We utilize other labs at times as well, including Berkeley Heart Lab,  Medical Laboratory Associates (Seattle) Deaconess, PAML, Sacred Heart and Genova Diagnostics.
  • Radiology and Imaging studies are referred to Inland Imaging, Advanced Imaging, Spinal Diagnostic and arrangements can be made for others as well.
  • Routine in-office testing includes blood pressure, body fat analysis (using bio-electrical impedance), electrocardiogram (ECG),  pulmonary function testing (PFT) including pre- and post-inhalation treatment evaluation, urine pregnancy tests, rapid strep tests, urinalysis including microscopic, eye pressure test (Tonopen), diabetic sensory testing with monofilament, vaginal wet mounts and skin scrape tests for fungus.
  • Specialty testing services are available including in office ultrasound diagnostics  (provided by an independent technologist with official reading/interpretation by specialty physicians),  IMT (Intima-Media-Thickness testing completed at our office by CardioRisk Ultrasound from Salt Lake City, UT), and occasional other specialty testing.
  • We include education in most of our visits.  Our philosophy is to have our patients  informed and actively involved in the decision-making process related to their health care.  We use a variety of written materials, recommend local resources and encourage the patient to gather information and bring questions to help in this dialog.
  • We think compassion and laughter have an important role in a therapeutic relationship as well as clinical expertise and decision making.  You may hear us laugh at times (sometimes cry--we want to be real).  Our desire is to foster a climate that we also enjoy--we like what we do.
